Mohammed Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto and president of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), says the crescent for the commencement of the Ramadan fasting has been sighted.

In a broadcast on NTA on Wednesday night, the sultan said Muslims in the country should commence fasting on Thursday, March 23.
