Billionaire Folorunso Alakija addressed recent speculation about her marriage on social media, sharing a message focused on resilience and peace.

Reports circulating over the weekend suggested a possible separation from her husband, Modupe Alakija, after 30 years of marriage.

The couple, who presented a united front publicly, is said to be navigating a strained relationship. Mr. Alakija reportedly moved out of their Ikoyi residence in Lagos, though he remains nearby.

Allegations of Mrs. Alakija’s undisclosed health challenges and a private wedding for her son last year have also surfaced.

The business magnate, known for her ventures in oil, gas, and fashion, remains a prominent figure in Africa’s business landscape.

Notably, in December 2021, Mr. Alakija faced a suspension from Ikoyi Club due to an alleged altercation with another member. The suspension is set to last until November 30, 2022.
