During a press briefing in Abuja to commemorate his first year in office, the ex-governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, addressed his affiliation with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and debunked speculations about him exiting the party.

He said, “I’ve told you, I will not run away from any fight. I will stay there and we will fight it out. Who am I going to run from, the vampires?
When asked about his relationship with the current Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, he said, “In politics, you can’t say for sure this is how it would be. Why I say I’ve done my own part is because with my conscience, I did what I did without regretting and I fought for him to be governor.”

He said his main priority is to fulfil the responsibilities assigned to him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which involves developing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Elaborating more on his achievement so far, he said his main goal is to make Abuja a “liveable city”.
