Veteran Nollywood actor, Duro Michael, is dead.
His colleague and filmmaker, Stanleyontop, confirmed the news on Thursday.
He wrote on Instagram: “Nollywood actor Duro Michael has kicked the bucket.
“He died a few days ago after battling a terminal illness… May his soul rest in peace. Omo, it’s well ooo.
“We don’t help ourselves in this Nollywood, and it’s too bad… No synergy.”
Michael had been away from active acting for several years due to his deteriorating health.
The illness led to the amputation of one of his legs, after which he publicly appealed for assistance with medical care and a prosthetic limb.
In 2024, despite his challenges, Michael appealed to producers to continue casting him.
In 2022, he received financial support from Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, who donated ₦5 million towards his treatment.
His condition would later worsen.
Michael appeared in several Nollywood movies, including Midnight Love (2003) and The Guilty (2006).
