The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has expressed its commitment to ensuring digital governance in the country.
Dr Matthew Adepoju, NASRDA Director-General, said this while receiving the ‘Best Federal Ministry, Department and Agency (MDA) Digital Governance Award’ at the Nigeria GovTech Gala and Awards in Abuja on Friday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the D-G also received the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazers Award.
Represented by Dr Felix Ale, Director, Media and Corporate Communications, Adepoju said Nigerians were beginning to appreciate more space science technology activities in the country.
“This award is a recognition of excellence, recognition of hard work because the D-G has brought to bear a lot of innovation, he has brought to bear a lot of activities to rewrite the history of the agency, and digital governance is part of it.
“All these activities are good, and it speaks volumes to be singled out in an occasion like this, it is a challenge to us to do more,” he said.
Adepoju said the agency had introduced some initiatives to enhance processes, which would culminate in a growing space science ecosystem.
Mrs Esuabana Nko-Asanye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, while congratulating NASRDA, said the ministry was working to ensure that the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda was met.
The event was organised by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) to recognise MDAs, private companies, stakeholders and individuals that had been outstanding in digital governance.
