The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved all its local government and ward executives in Enugu State as part of efforts to restructure and strengthen the party ahead of upcoming political activities.
The announcement was made by the state caretaker committee chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, during the Enugu West Senatorial District stakeholders’ meeting held at Golden Royal Hotel, Enugu.
Nwoye said the move followed a directive from the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to reorganize its structure in the state, stressing that unity and equality must guide party members.
He explained that the decision became necessary after discovering multiple claims to leadership positions across several wards and councils.
Nwoye also revealed that the APC had introduced digital registration for members, which would be officially launched by the National Chairman in Owerri, Imo State, on Monday.
Former Minister of Aviation and caretaker committee member, Fidelia Njeze, called for greater inclusiveness and harmony within the party, urging members to welcome all supporters to strengthen the APC in Enugu.
In a communiqué read by Barr. Godwin Onwusi, the stakeholders pledged support for President Bola Tinubu and endorsed his re-election bid in 2027.
They also expressed openness to Governor Peter Mbah joining the APC and commended the NWC for dissolving the state’s previous leadership and appointing Nwoye and Eugene Odoh as interim chairman and secretary.
