The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, on Sunday, made a public appearance in Abuja after days of speculation about his health and whereabouts.
Edun was seen by The Nation’s correspondent at Fraser Suites, Abuja, where he attended an official business engagement involving a Qatari delegation.
According to The Nation, the minister, who had been reported to be “Indisposed” and possibly out of the country, was sighted walking into the meeting venue on Sunday afternoon.
He was later seen leaving the closed-door session in the company of the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, after about an hour of discussions with the visiting officials.
His appearance comes after several reports during the week suggested that he had travelled to the United Kingdom for medical reasons.
In a video shared by NTA Network on X, Edun was seen wearing Agbada attire during the engagement.
Earlier in the week, Edun had been spotted at an art exhibition in London.
A video posted by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, showed the minister visiting the O’DA Art Gallery booth at the 1-54 London Art Fair on October 15 at Somerset House.
Onanuga had clarified that the minister was in the United Kingdom for “an officially sanctioned few days of rest from the rigours of managing the Nigerian economy.”
