Tanzanian singer Juma Jux loses store to angry protesters

Juma Jux’s shop has been reportedly set ablaze and reduced to ashes by angry protesters in Tanzania. His shop was worth over $780 million.

Juma Jux is currently in Nigeria with his his wife Priscilla Ojo.

According to reports, the store, one of the Jux’s flagship fashion outlets in Dar es Salaam, was completely destroyed as protesters stormed several commercial areas looting and setting fire to businesses during clashes with police.

The presidential elections on Wednesday got violent and protesters went crazy on the streets of Tanzania.

Protester as the broke out in commercial city of Dar es Salaam and other cities during the voting over exclusion of President Suluhu Hassan’s two biggest challengers from the presidential race, as well as what demonstrators says is increasing government repression.

According to Witnesses, the violence broke out hours after the October 29 presidential election which opposition leader claimed it was marred by irregularities, voters intimidation, and disqualification of major candidates.

Police ordered an overnight curfew in Dar es Salaam, a city of more than seven million people, after government offices and other buildings were set ablaze.
