President Bola Tinubu has appointed Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo as the Renewed Hope Ambassador, ahead of the national inauguration of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.

‎In a statement issued by the Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja, the president said Uzodimma would also serve as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation.

‎The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that under the new role, which takes immediate effect, Uzodimma will work with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and governors to promote the Tinubu administration’s programmes nationwide.

NAN also reports that as Renewed Hope Ambassador, the governor, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, is expected to ensure harmony, inclusiveness and strategic coordination across all party structures, while driving mobilisation and public engagements.

‎He will collaborate with APC governors, who will also serve as Ambassadors of Hope.

‎The president urged Uzodimma and his colleagues to intensify efforts in disseminating his administration’s achievements since 2023 and reinforcing the message of renewed hope across the country.

He also urged him to ensure that Nigerians understand the progress being recorded across sectors.

‎NAN reports that Tinubu took office in May 2023 with a reform agenda that the presidency said was delivering positive economic outcomes.

‎According to Onanuga, inflation has eased for seven consecutive months to 16.05 per cent in October, while the exchange rate has stabilised.
“Foreign reserves have risen to over 46 billion dollars, up from the 32 billion dollars and net four billion dollars inherited in 2023.

‎”Investor confidence has returned, boosting foreign direct and portfolio inflows, with the oil and gas sector among the key beneficiaries.

The stock market is experiencing record performance, and diversification efforts are advancing, particularly in solid minerals,” he said.

‎Onanuga said that more than 700,000 students have enrolled under the government’s expanded educational loan scheme, while the timeline for obtaining travel passports has been reduced to less than one week.
