El-Rufai dumps SDP, joins ADC coalition

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has formally joined the coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC), having tendered his resignation from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

He has also picked up the membership card of the ADC from his ward at Ungwan Sarki, Kaduna.

In his letter of resignation addressed to the chairman of the SDP, Kaduna State chapter, and sighted by journalists, he wrote in part, “I wish to notify you that I have resigned my membership of the SDP, effective 26 November 2025. My focus remains on making my contributions to strengthening a unified democratic platform to offer a political alternative to the people of Nigeria.”

Also, a post on the official Facebook handle of the ADC stated, “Alhamdulillh Malam Nasir El-Rufai officially registered as an ADC member and picked up his membership card at Unguwar Sarki ward, Kaduna State.”
