The Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has announced the impeachment of its state chairman, Alphonsus Eba.
Patrick Asikpo, the state secretary of the party, disclosed this at the state secretariat of the party.
He said 30 out of the 32 members of the state executive committee impeached the former chairman during its meeting on 26 November 2025.
Following the impeachment, the state executive committee has elected and sworn in Ntufam Ekum Ojoju, the former deputy state chairman, as the acting state chairman of the party.
In his acceptance speech, the new acting chairman tasked members to sheath their swords and move the party forward.
“It is time to sheath our swords. Let us set aside any differences, grievances, or misunderstandings that may have arisen.
“I want you to know that all entitlements and dues owed to you will be serviced in the shortest possible time.
“Your patience and trust fuel our resolve to move forward together,” he said.
The acting chairman also affirmed his unflinching loyalty to the state governor, Senator Bassey Otu.
Chapter and ward executives of the party had called for the resignation of the former state chairman over sundry allegations including financial misappropriation, high-handedness, among others.
