The Police Command in Delta has apprehended a robbery suspect in Abraka Community, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesman of the command, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Warri.
Edafe said that the suspect was arrested on Saturday by the operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) of the command.
He said that the successful operation was led by ASP Julius Robinson as part of the effort by the command to curb cult-related activities and proliferation of illicit firearms in the state.
“Acting on credible intelligence, the operatives conducted a coordinated search at No. 2, Umeghe street in Abraka.
“The operation resulted in the arrest of a suspect, recovery of two pump-action guns and 39 live cartridges,” he said.
Edafe said that the suspect was in the custody of the police, adding that investigation was ongoing.
