Akinloye also said that the defendant fraudulently converted the money to his personal use instead of remitting it to employers account.

He said that the defendant committed the offence between July 2024 and February 2025 at the firm’s premises in Ibadan.

The prosecutor further said that the offence contravened Section 383 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Defence Counsel, Adesayo Adaralegbe prayed the court to admit the defendant to bail in the most liberal terms.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N2.5million, with two sureties in like sum.

Ogunkanmi said that one of the sureties must own a landed property within the court’s jurisdiction, and that the second sureties should be a blood relation to the defendant.

She adjourned the matter until March 3, 2026, for hearing.
