Neymar’s father has revealed that his son came close to retiring from football during his recent injury woes at Santos.
Months ago, Neymar told him: “I can’t do this anymore. I need surgery, but I don’t even know if it’s worth it, Dad. I’m exhausted.”
Despite the physical and mental toll, he pushed through the pain to play and helped Santos avoid relegation.
