The outbreak followed three consecutive days of extreme heat, with temperatures ranging between 38 and 43 degrees Celsius across parts of the state.

The Victorian Fire Service has been battling the fires, which authorities say were intensified by the prolonged heatwave and dry conditions. As a safety precaution, power supply was shut down in affected areas to reduce further risk.

9News Nigeria learned from a resident who narrated the experience that electricity was turned off at about 8:00 p.m. on Friday night. As of 10:23 p.m. Friday, power is yet to be restored and is expected to return around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Fire authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as residents remain on high alert amid ongoing extreme weather conditions across Victoria.
