Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo has appointed two senior academics as Deputy Vice-Chancellors in a move to strengthen its academic and administrative leadership.
This is contained in a statement by the Deputy Director of Public Relations of the institution, Lucky Eboh-Onokwe on Thursday in Benin.

Eboh-Onokwe said that Prof. Osaretin Izevbuwa was appointed Deputy Vice- Chancellor (Administration), while Prof. Blessing Oligbi would serve as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics).
He said that both appointments took immediate effect.
He described the appointments as “strategic decisions designed to further enhance the university’s governance, academic excellence and institutional growth.”
The PRO said that Prof. Izevbuwa, a pioneer staff member who joined the university in 1999, is a professor of Comparative Criminal Law.
Izevbuwa until his appointment was the Dean of the Oba Erediauwa College of Law, Okada.
“Prof. Izevbuwa brings to the office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) a wealth of experience in academic leadership, university administration and legal scholarship,” Eboh-Onokwe said.
He said that Prof. Oligbi, the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), on the other hand, is a professor of Public Sector and Development Economics.
According to him, she was, prior to her appointment, the Dean of the Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan College of Arts and Social Sciences, Okada, Edo.
The university’s spokesperson said that Oligbi’s appointment reflected the university’s commitment to strengthening academic quality, curriculum development and research output.
“The management is confident that the new deputy vice-chancellors will provide effective leadership in advancing the university’s academic and administrative objectives,” Eboh-Onokwe said.
