News of Adam Nuru, managing director of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) – sex scandal with his married mistress, Moyo has been trending across news platforms in Nigeria within the last few hours. And as at the last count more than 400 people have signed a petition asking the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to sack the MD over “unethical grounds.”
Obviously disturbed by the news, FCMB expectedly responded on Thursday evening. Speaking on the widely reported news, Rafiu Mohammed, a staff, who spoke on behalf of Diran Olojo, FCMB’s spokesman, dismissed the petition as a “mere allegation”.
Mohammed told TheCable that it was unfortunate that people would come up with unsubstantiated claims which the deceased never raised when he was alive.
He also said the fact that Thomas had impregnated another lady and was on the verge of remarrying before his death showed that he had already moved on from what transpired during his marriage to Moyo.
Assuming there was a DNA report that said there was indeed an affair between them and the children belong to the MD, that’s evidence. But so far, there’s none. Also, has any evidence established his (Thomas’s) death was caused by our MD? Anyone can suffer cardiac arrest,” he said.
“It’s a mere allegation with no evidence or fact to back it up. That’s the issue. But if they come up with evidence, we will respond. Also, the petition is going through the CBN, does the apex bank settle personal or marital issues?
“The person in question has died. When he was alive, he didn’t take up the matter himself but when he died, some people are claiming to be fighting for him.
“Based on the said petition, the deceased was about to marry another person which implied that he had also moved from what transpired during his first marriage.
To many who reacted via social media, FCMB’s position on the issue at hand is rather callous, heartless and wicked.
Again they believe that the bank craftily avoided dealing with the substance in the issue.
Most Nigeria say that the bank should have distanced itself from the alleged misconduct of its head honcho rather than trying to defend him.
Some concerned individuals who expressed their displeasure noted that FCMB did not state clearly say if Adam Nuru’s alleged immoral affair is a case of misconduct or not, rather it went ahead to spuriously say that while the deceased was alive he did not take up the matter himself.
On the hand, FCMB went ahead to say that the petition was mere baseless allegations without proof either by a paternity test or otherwise, but again, many opined that such statement not only means that the bank is in tune with its MD, Adam Nuru but clearly paints it in very bad light.
Recall, this is not the first time a Managing Director of the bank will be involved in sex scandal.
Former Managing director and son of Subomi Balogun, founder of FCMB, Ladi Balogunwas fingered in multiple sex scandals that shook the bank to its very foundation. Ladi who was the bank’s MD at the time was allegedly behind the marital crash of socialite, Uju Murphy and actress, Uche Iwuji.
In light of the above revelation, can it be said that FCMB is now home of sex scandals? Anyway, stay with us as we unravel more dirty secret.
