President of the Super Eagles Supporters Club, SESC Prince Vincent Okumagba has urged Nigerians to remain calm after their 0-1 defeat to Central African Republic in a World Cup qualifying game at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos Thursday evening.
Karl Namnganda’s stoppage time goal after a defensive error condemned Nigeria to their first defeat of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.
Prince Okumagba, in an interview moments after the final whistle told Journalists in Lagos that Nigerians should remain calm as the Super Eagles will do the needful in Douala.
Okumagba described the loss as a big blow but he however charged the Super Eagles to bring out the never say die spirit in Douala when they play the return leg on Sunday.
“This is indeed a rude shock to Nigerians losing to CAR ;but the good thing from this defeat is, it is a wake up call.
“I’m sure that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will quickly correct the errors and bring out the never-say-die spirit when they play the return leg in Cameroon to grab maximum points.
“We believe in this team and I would love to tell Nigerians to remain calm.
“As usual, we will continue to give all the necessary support to ensure the team achieves glory,” Okumagba enthused.
Nigeria remain top of Group C with six points and in two days’ time, the Super Eagles will tackle CAR again at the Stade Japoma de Douala in Cameroon.
