Rwanda taekwondo federation has won the bid to stage the 2022 African Taekwondo championship which is expected to take place between July and September.
The federation of Rwanda has never hosted the event before and they are set to be the first sub-Saharan African country to host this continental competition.
According to source, the country Taekwondo body applied to host the 2022 African Taekwondo Championships late last year.
The Kigali Arena located in the capital city is the facility that will host the whole competition as the tournament is expected to attract 40 countries that will take part.
The championship was most recently staged in Senegal’s capital Dakar last year.
