Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested former Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano.
Obiano was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Thursday, same day he handed over the reins to his successor, Prof. Charles Soludo, as governor of Anambra.
We learnt, Obiano, who was governor of Anambra for eight years, was picked up by the EFCC operativesat about 8:30pm as he prepared to board a flight to Houston, in the US State of Texas.
You would recall that the former Governor has been on the watchlist of the EFCC over multi-million graft offences.
Shortly after the hand over ceremony to the new Anambra Governor, Charles Soludo, Obiano was pictured with his wife jetting out to Lagos on their way to the United States where they intended to cool off when they were busted.
