Chidinma Adetshina wins Miss Universe Nigeria 2024

Chidinma Adetshina has won Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidinma, who faced significant backlash in Miss South Africa 2024 over her Nigerian heritage, eventually withdrew from the pageant.

Chidimma was announced winner at the grand finale in Lagos on Saturday, August 31.

The 23-year-old law student defeated 24 other contestants.

After the contestants showcased their elegance in evening gowns, the top five finalists were announced.

They included Miss Taraba Chidimma Adetshina, Miss Anambra Paula Ezendu, Miss Edo Edeifo Brittany, Miss Ondo Ayegbidun Peace Olamide, and Miss Rivers Nyekachi Douglas.

The top three winners were announced with Miss Ondo named Miss Lush, Miss Anambra as the first runner-up and Miss Supranational, and Chidimma Adetshina as the overall winner.

Chidinma, who faced significant backlash in Miss South Africa 2024 over her Nigerian heritage, eventually withdrew from the pageant.

In response, she was invited to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant where she represented Taraba State.

As the winner, she will represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss Universe competition in Mexico on 16 November.
