LSFA 2025: LSFA Chairman commends Gov. Sanwo-Olu, LSSC, stakeholders on successful competition

Lagos football community was agog Sunday, as the finals of the 2025 Lagos State President Federation Cup held at the prestigious Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

Speaking with journalists at the well-attended football event, Chairmam of Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, expressed his satisfaction and happiness on the success of the competition.

“Without a doubt, this year’s competition was a big success in terms of quality of play, organisation, discipline and attendance at the matches from the start to finish.

“Importantly, on behalf of the executive board of the LSFA, stakeholders, investors and the football community, I want to say a very big thank you to His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for providing us with a safe and conducive environment, as well as, a beautiful facility for football and the youths to thrive.

“We also appreciate the leadership of the Lagos State Sports Commission, led by Hon. Lekan Fatodu, for ensuring there is a smooth and beneficial relationship with the LSFA.”

Hajji Liameed went on to appreciate football administrators, stakeholders, investors and government functionaries, including former LSFA Chairman and NFF 1st Vice-President Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, Engr. Waidi Akanni, SSA On Sports to Lagos State Governor, Hon. Damilare Orimoloye, Hon. Onaopepo Adu, Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Sports Marketing, Chairman of TopPro Sports Management ESV Ayodele Thomas, CEO of Owu sportswear, Barrister Tunji Brown, Peter Nieketein and Kelvin Etemike, who represented the Ex-Nigeria Internationals, for their invaluable supports.
