Governor of Anambra state, Prof Charles Soludo, has reiterated his stance that he does not believe in Biafra’s separatist view or agitation.

He disclosed this during a Channels Television interview on Sunday.

This comes as he said he would discuss with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, for an alternative vision for Igbo land after his release.

Soludo, who is seeking reelection as governor of Anambra state, noted that Igbos need Nigeria the way the country needs Igbos.

He, however, did not kick against the 20th October 2025 protest for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

“For me, I believe very strongly that, of course, the agitation and separatist view in Igboland – for me, as a full-blooded Igbo man, I don’t believe that. But I want us to have a discussion. I am of the view that the Igbo man needs Nigeria; Nigeria needs the Igbo man.

“When Nnamdi Kanu comes out, we are all going to sit down at a round table and interrogate our alternative vision for Igbo land,” he said.

This comes as Omoyele Sowore is staging a nationwide protest to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

The IPOB leader was rearrested in Kenya and has been in the custody of the Department of State Services.
