Former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has expressed dissatisfaction over the failure to purchase a form to contest for the National Chairman position of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Naija News reports that Lamido had earlier, in a post on his verified Facebook page, declared his intention to contest for the PDP chairmanship position.

The former Governor, who is also one of the PDP’s founding members, said his commitment to democracy and resolve to restore the major opposition in the country to its former status are unstoppable.

He noted that his decision to contest was driven by the need to prepare the party for future elections.

However, Lamido was unable to secure the form at the PDP National Headquarters on Monday.

Speaking with journalists regarding the development, the former Foreign Affairs Minister declared that he was prepared to contest for the party’s chairmanship at the November 15th and 16th elective National Convention, slated for Ibadan, Oyo State.

Lamido further vowed to head to the court if he failed to get the form.

Recall that governors elected on the platform of the PDP endorsed former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, for the Chairmanship position.

Before his endorsement, Lamido, Turaki, and former Governors of Kano and Kaduna, Ibrahim Shekarau and Ahmed Makarfi, had indicated interest in the contest.
