The decision comes less than 24 hours after the club dismissed Ivan Juric following a disappointing run of results in the ongoing Serie A season.

Juric’s exit was sealed on Sunday after Atalanta suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat at home to newly promoted Sassuolo.

The loss, which came after only 11 league matches in the 2025/26 campaign, reportedly frustrated the club’s management, prompting a swift overhaul of the technical bench.

Football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano had earlier reported Palladino’s imminent appointment on Tuesday.

ThemomentNG reports that Palladino, 41, arrives at a critical moment for La Dea.

The Italian tactician is known for his progressive, attack-minded football philosophy and his commitment to developing young players, a model that aligns closely with Atalanta’s long-standing culture.

He previously worked in Florence, where, despite internal tensions that ended his spell prematurely, his forward-thinking approach earned him widespread respect within Italian football.

Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi expressed confidence in the club’s new direction under Palladino.

Percassi praised his “energy, vision, and long-term commitment,” noting that the coach’s footballing ideas match Atalanta’s developmental philosophy.

Palladino’s first challenge will be stabilising the team’s domestic form while juggling their ongoing European commitments. He is expected to take charge of his first training session later this week as preparation begins for their next league fixture.

Atalanta fans will now be watching closely to see whether the new manager can revitalise the squad and restore momentum after a rocky start to the season.
