Dangote Cement Plc has been named Nigeria’s most tax-compliant organisation for 2025 by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) after a detailed industry-wide assessment.

Dangote Cement Group Head of Tax and Compliance, FIRS, Mojisola Ogunlade, confirmed the award in a statement on Monday in Lagos.

She said the honour was presented during the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair, where the company’s compliance practices received strong commendation.

Ogunlade explained that the award highlighted the firm’s long-standing focus on transparency, accountability, and timely submission of statutory tax obligations.

She added that the recognition confirmed the company’s continued commitment to national development through responsible and consistent tax contributions.

The tax chief said the gesture would motivate other private organisations to strengthen their compliance frameworks and prioritise civic responsibility.

She stated that the award demonstrated Dangote Cement’s resolve to maintain a strong working relationship with the FIRS for improved efficiency.

Ogunlade emphasised that the firm would keep aligning its operations with regulatory standards supporting a transparent and predictable tax regime.

She recalled that Dangote Group paid more than N402 billion in taxes in 2024, positioning it as Nigeria’s highest taxpayer.

According to her, the group achieved full compliance by deploying advanced systems designed to match global best practices in tax governance.

She said these systems ensured strict adherence to statutory timelines and helped eliminate the risks and costs associated with non-compliance.

Ogunlade added that the Dangote brand would continue promoting a culture of tax discipline as part of its broader corporate responsibility agenda.
