Senate President, Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday named Sen. Yahaya Abdullahi (APC-Kebbi) as Chairman, Senate Committee on National Intelligence and Security.
Akpabio, who made the announcement at plenary, also named Senate Minority Whip, Sen. Osita Ngwu (PDP- Enugu), as acting Chairman of the Committee on Air Force.
ThemomentNG reports that Ngwu was the Deputy Chairman of the committee hitherto chaired by Sen. Godiya Akwashiki (SDP-Nasarawa) who has been indisposed.
Akpabio also said that Sen. Shehu Buba (APC- Bauchi) would chair the Committee on Livestock and Animal Husbandry while Sen. Musa Mustapha (APC-Yobe) would lead the Committee on National Planning.
Akpabio said that the appointments would strengthen the senate’s oversight functions as it responds to emerging national priorities.
