Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential media aide, has praised President Donald Trump’s decision to ban terrorism financiers and supporters from entering the nation.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared on Wednesday that the US government will prohibit “visas for those who knowingly direct, authorise, fund, support, or carry out violations of religious freedom”.

Concerned Nigerians and several foreign freedom fighters praised the decision, claiming that Christians are persecuted in Nigeria.

Reacting, Bashir, in a post on his official X handle on Wednesday night, said the visa ban policy is a welcome development.

He wrote, “This is a welcome development. All individuals, whether in Nigeria or abroad, who are causing trouble, fueling destruction or contributing to the killings in our country should be banned. Ban them all.

“They are also killing my fellow Muslims, not only your Christian brothers and sisters. If they undermine our peace and stability, they should be deprived of the privilege of ever setting foot in the United States again”.
