Nigerian singer, Bigiano, has claimed that he wrote the hit song Dami Duro for fellow artiste, Davido, saying he was responsible for the hook of the popular track.

Naija News reports that the Shayo crooner made the claim during a recent interview with content creator, Akin Abolade, where he spoke about his career, his break from music, and his contribution to one of Davido’s biggest early hits.

According to Bigiano, his input played a key role in the success of the song, which was released in 2011 and helped launch Davido into mainstream fame.

“I wrote Dami Duro for Davido. I wrote the hook,” he said during the interview.

Despite the claim, Bigiano is not officially credited as a co-writer on the song.

Dami Duro remains one of Davido’s most defining songs, shooting the singer to fame shortly after its release.

Over the years, the track has been listed among the “greatest Afrobeats songs of all time” by several local and international music enthusiasts, cementing its place in Nigeria’s music history.

Explaining his long absence from the music scene, Bigiano said his break was deliberate and strategic, describing it as a necessary pause ahead of a bigger comeback.

“Sometimes, you have to take a break to be able to come back again. I went on a sabbatical to make my return to music massive,” he said.

The singer also dismissed speculations that his absence from the spotlight was due to financial struggles, insisting that he remains financially stable.

“I can’t be broke,” Bigiano added.

However, Davido has not reacted publicly to Bigiano’s claim of co-writing the hook of Dami Duro, as of the time of filing this report.

ThemomentNG reports that ‘Dami Duro’ remains a major milestone in Davido’s music career.
