The Central Planning Committee (CPC) of the Southern Kaduna Festival (SKFEST) has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done the Kaduna South senatorial district good and as such the people are morally committed to reciprocating his kind gesture by voting him in 2027 election.
Also, a group under the auspices of Southern Kaduna Journalists Forum (SKJF), has described the appointment of the Minister of Defence, former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen. Christopher Musa (rtd) as most suitable based on his military background and experience, thanking President Tinubu for giving Southern Kaduna region such honour.
Leader of the SKFEST, Rear Admiral Ferguson Bobai (rtd) said: |President Tinubu has done us well in Southern Kaduna and we will not hesitate to reciprocate his kind gesture at the appropriate time. President Tinubu has given us Federal University, Federal Medical Centre, among others and we sincerely thank him.”
This was just as he announced that the annual cultural festival will not hold in December 2025 as previously expected, following a strategic review of the event’s sustainability and timing.
This was part of issues raised at a press briefing held in Barnawa area of Kaduna, by the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Rear Admiral Ferguson Bobai (rtd).
Bobai said the festival has since grown into a major platform for celebrating the rich and diverse cultures of the 57 ethnic communities that make up Southern Kaduna, and was originally conceived as an annual event.
SKJF, in a statement issued in Kaduna, observed that the decision of President Tinubu to appoint General Musa received overwhelming support from Nigerians who had witnessed his competence and capacity during his tenure as CDS.
The group thumbed up President Tinubu for the appointment, saying, “Musa is a round peg in a round hole.
“The people of Southern Kaduna have taken note of this goodwill and will surely reciprocate at the appropriate time. Gen Musa’s appointment is a pride for Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large.”
The statement jointly signed by Ango Bali and Lilian Silas, chairman and secretary of SKJF, respectively, noted that “General Musa’s appointment is a well deserved recognition of his illustrious career, exceptional leadership record, and steadfast commitment to the peace, unity, and security of our dear nation.”
The Forum said as the immediate past CDS, Gen. Musa “exhibited brilliance, patriotism, and professional excellence that continue to earn him national and international respect”.
The SKJF also commended the Senate for the “swift, thorough, and highly professional screening process which culminated in Musa’s confirmation as Minister of Defence.”
