“I extend my deep sympathies to you following the tragic accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, which claimed two precious lives and caused you injuries,” he said.

The President described the incident as especially painful, noting it occurred during the festive season.

“This immense tragedy casts a deep shadow on this season,” the President said.

Tinubu said he shared the grief of Joshua and his family over the loss and emotional trauma.

“I sympathise with you and your family as you bear the emotional weight of this unfortunate incident,” he said.

He praised Joshua’s discipline, courage and patriotism, describing the boxer as a continuing source of national pride.

“As a sportsman, you have shown courage, discipline and unwavering love for our country, making you a source of national pride,” he said.

The President urged Nigerians to support one another in moments of grief and adversity.

“In moments like this, we must encourage one another as brothers and sisters with a shared destiny,” he said.

Tinubu prayed for Joshua’s speedy recovery and for eternal rest for those who died in the crash.

“May God grant you strength, wisdom and grace, a swift recovery, and repose for the souls of the departed,” Tinubu prayed.
