Ebunoluwa Olagoke, Director of Public Affairs, National Christian Pilgrims Commission, confirmed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Lagos.

According to Olagoke, NCPC representative, Venerable Joseph Chibuogwu, urged pilgrims to respond politely and truthfully to immigration and security officials.

Chibuogwu assured them of adequate care, guidance and support from the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and the commission.

He cautioned pilgrims to pack purchases in checked luggage and stressed the spiritual nature of the journey, urging discipline and focus.

On health matters, Chibuogwu advised pilgrims to declare medications and watch their diet, saying, “Eat what you know and know what you eat.”

The board’s Secretary, Dr Okudero Omoniyi, said the first batch would begin in Jordan before proceeding to Israel.

According to him, the pilgrims are expected in Jordan on Feb. 1, while the second batch is scheduled to depart on Feb. 11.
