The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the establishment of a caretaker committee to take charge of party affairs in Abia State.
According to a statement on Monday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the caretaker committee was approved by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
He explained that, based on the party’s constitution, the caretaker committee would serve for a period not exceeding 90 days or until such time as a new executive is elected.
The members are:

8.BARR. OBINNA NWAOGWUGWU-MEMBER
9.FELIX NWAGBARA-SECRETARY
The statement reads: “The National Working Committee (NWC) of our Great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has, on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), pursuant to Section 29(2)(b) of our Constitution (2025 as amended), approved the appointment of the following party leaders as members of the Abia State Caretaker Committee.
“The Committee is charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the Party in Abia State, as stipulated in Section 21(2)(a-b) of our Party’s Constitution for a period not exceeding 90days or till such a time a new executive shall be elected.
“In carrying out this assignment, the members are to be guided strictly by the PDP Constitution (2025, as amended), the Electoral Act, 2022 and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.”
