Airtel Nigeria this week hosted senior leadership from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) at its data centre facility in Lekki, Lagos, as part of a familiarisation visit focused on network infrastructure and operational capabilities.
The delegation included NCC Board Chairman Chief Idris Olorunnimbe, Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Aminu Maida, members of the Commission’s board and executive management, as well as the Chairman of the Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), Engr. Gbenga Adebayo.
During the visit, Airtel Nigeria showcased its ongoing investments in network expansion, capacity enhancement, and infrastructure resilience, aimed at meeting Nigeria’s rapidly growing demand for data services. The discussions also emphasized the critical role of protecting telecom infrastructure, as the sector continues to underpin the country’s digital economy and broader economic development.
The engagement highlighted the importance of collaboration between operators and regulators in aligning industry priorities, strengthening oversight, and ensuring that Nigeria’s connectivity infrastructure continues to evolve in line with national development goals.
