The minister emphasised the need for a result-oriented approach across ministries, departments and agencies, noting that the performance bonds were binding commitments that would be closely monitored.

Akutah said the council’s management had reinforced its commitment to accountability, transparency and improved performance in line with national development priorities.

Highlighting the council’s achievements in 2025, he said the NSC recorded progress in the development of Inland Dry Ports (IDPs) across designated locations nationwide.

According to him, the development of IDPs is part of efforts to strengthen the nation’s transport and logistics infrastructure.

He added that the council continued to play a key role in facilitating the establishment of IDPs with the support of the supervising ministry.

Akutah said the council’s intervention in resolving disputes between port service providers and users had saved Nigerians significant costs while improving efficiency in the maritime sector.

He also highlighted the implementation of the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS), noting that documentation processes within the council had been fully digitised.

According to him, the transition to electronic documentation has streamlined operations, reduced delays and enhanced service delivery.

Akutah reiterated the council’s commitment to driving reforms and improving service standards in the port and logistics sector.
