An aspirant in the 2027 Lagos State governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has begun consultations with the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
themomentng reports that the move comes amid growing political activities within the ruling party ahead of the next governorship election in the state.

Jandor, in a statement issued earlier on Tuesday by his spokesman, Gbenga Ogunleye, maintained that the party had not adopted any consensus candidate for the race.
“We restate, in line with the official position of the Lagos State APC leadership as communicated by the State Chairman, that no aspirant has been anointed and that all aspirants will participate in a credible primary election,” the statement read.
The clarification follows recent speculations about possible endorsements within the party.
Despite his stance, the aspirant expressed readiness to abide by the party’s decision should a consensus arrangement eventually emerge.
The statement added that he “will fully align with that decision, irrespective of who emerges.”
“This is a position anchored on his readiness to compete, and a willingness to submit to the collective will of the party,” it noted.
Jandor also said he remained actively engaged in the race, revealing that he had intensified consultations across the state.
According to him, efforts are ongoing to strengthen grassroots structures and build wider support among party members.
He further cautioned stakeholders against mistaking individual endorsements or campaign activities as the official position of the party leadership.
