The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke is set to inaugurate a 52-member Imole Campaign Council, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in a major political step toward the August 15, 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun State.

The council, known as the Imole Campaign Council 2026 (TICC), is designed as the apex strategic organ of the governor’s re-election campaign. It will function as the central coordinating body and think tank, responsible for driving campaign strategy, mobilization, and overall political direction.

According to details released ahead of the inauguration, the council is expected to provide “visionary leadership, strategic direction, and integrated coordination” across all campaign structures and stakeholders, with the goal of securing a decisive electoral victory for the incumbent administration.

The 52-member body draws from a broad mix of experienced politicians, professionals, and grassroots mobilizers across the state. It will be chaired by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council at Osun State University, Prof Wale Ladipo, while the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi has been appointed Director General, the Commissioner for Information to the Osun State Government, Barrister Kolapo Alimi will serve as Deputy Director General, with Convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates in Nigeria, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi as spokesperson and Hon. Prince Bola Ajao as Secretary.

Further strengthening the campaign structure, the lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rep. Bamidele Salam, who also chairs the House Committee on Public Accounts, will head the Media and Publicity Committee, while Former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, will oversee Inter-Party Relations along side other 29 Campaign Council Standing Committees.

At the federal level, the Imole Federal Constituency Campaign Committee (TIFCCC) will be constituted in each of the nine federal constituencies. Membership will include working committee members, state party officers, members of the House of Assembly, commissioners, special advisers, council chairmen, and party chairmen from each constituency.

Similarly, the Imole Local Government Campaign Committee (TILGCC) will operate across all 30 local government areas and the area office, bringing together state lawmakers, local government chairmen, party leaders, senior special assistants, special assistants, councillors, and local education authority representatives.

At the grassroots level, the Imole Ward Campaign Committee (TIWCC) will be established in all 332 wards across the state. Each ward structure will include the ward chairman, who will serve as chairman of the committee alongside councillors, public office holders within the ward, and members of the ward executive committee.

The council’s primary mandate is to serve as the highest decision-making body of the campaign, overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of all campaign programmes and messaging strategies. It is also tasked with ensuring cohesion and discipline across the campaign structure.

In addition, the body will coordinate and supervise campaign operations at all levels, including federal constituencies, local governments, wards, diaspora networks, and polling units, to ensure a unified and integrated approach.

Political observers say the move signals an early and structured buildup to the 2026 election, with the Adeleke camp prioritising organization, message control, and grassroots engagement as key pillars of its campaign strategy.

The inauguration is expected to formally kick off intensified political activities across Osun State as the election season gathers momentum.
