Egberoungbe, as keynote speaker, will provide insights into policy, legislative frameworks, and the future of Nigeria’s marine and blue economy.

During his time in the House Committee on Marine and Blue Economy, he contributed to legislative oversight of key maritime agencies and policy development in ports, shipping, and maritime safety. His expertise in trade facilitation, regulatory efficiency, and sustainable development positions him to address the sector’s evolving challenges.

As Special Guests of Honour, Customs Area Comptroller Frank Onyeka of the Apapa Customs Area Command and Comrade Francis Bunu, President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), are also expected to grace the event, underscoring the conference’s significance within the maritime and port operations ecosystem.

Chairman of the Organising Committee, Raymond Tedunjaiye, said the AMJON conference has remained a credible platform for robust engagement on critical issues affecting Nigeria’s maritime industry and the broader economy.

He noted that participants will include representatives from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), the Nigeria Police Force, maritime labour unions, terminal operators, and the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

Other stakeholders expected are port managers, shipping companies, and freight forwarders.

A highlight of the event will be the presentation of awards to individuals and organisations for outstanding contributions to the maritime and business sectors. Categories include Most Distinguished Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Most Resourceful Port Manager of the Year, and Most Outstanding Port Infrastructure Personality of the Year, among others recognising excellence and innovation.

Tedunjaiye added that resolutions from the conference will be documented and forwarded to relevant government authorities to support policy development and sectoral reforms.

AMJON reaffirmed its commitment to promoting informed dialogue, strengthening collaboration, and advancing initiatives that enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainable growth in Nigeria’s maritime and blue economy.
