NDLEA destroys 8 hectares farm, seizes 170kg cannabis in Cross River

The Cross River Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Sunday destroyed an eight hectares of Cannabis Sativa farm in Uyanga community of Akamkpa local government area of the State.

themomentng reports that the spokesman of the Command, Sebastian Lebo made this known in a statement in Calabar.

He said that the NDLEA team, accompanied on the mission by soldiers from the 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, also recovered 170kg of Cannabis that was being processed in the farm.

Lebo said the destruction was coming few days after similar exercise took place at Uwet, another community in Akamkpa council area.

According to him, the Uwet farm involved six hectares of farmland where 15 tons of Cannabis was destroyed with 119kg of processed Cannabis recovered.

The statement noted that the State Commander, John Anteyi, commended the effort of the officers and soldiers for their bravery.

He also assured Nigerians that the NDLEA under the leadership of Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd) will continue to live upto its mandates, particularly in keeping Nigerian streets free of illicit drugs.
