The Accord in Oyo State will conduct its primary election by consensus from May 23 to May 30, the Secretary of the party in the state, Mr Olayinka Dairo, has said.
Dairo made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Friday.
He said that the party had not conducted any primary election in the state, emphasising that preparations were almost concluded on the election.
Dairo expressed optimism that the party would win many seats in the 2027 general elections.
He appealed to members of the party to get ready for the elections by obtaining their permanent voter cards.
Dairo described the card as the only power to elect leaders who would govern well.
“INEC will soon open its portal for voters’ registration.
“Those who have not collected their own voter cards should get registered so that they would not be disenfranchised in the 2027 general elections,” he said.
He clarified that the party was not part of the opposition summit recently held in Ibadan.
He said that the party was not informed about the summit.
