In the letter, Adebutu expressed appreciation to party leaders and members for their continued support and loyalty.

He said the party must approach the next election with unity, discipline and a shared sense of purpose if it hopes to win the governorship seat.

The former House of Representatives member also reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the PDP and his desire to offer purposeful leadership to the people of Ogun State.

Adebutu said his decision to seek the governorship seat again was informed by his long-standing involvement in the party and his commitment to strengthening the PDP across the state.

The PDP chieftain described himself as a law-abiding citizen and loyal party member.

He said his fresh governorship ambition was driven by the need to build on past experiences and deliver impactful governance to the people of Ogun State.

Adebutu called on PDP stakeholders in Ogun State to remain united and focused ahead of the election.

He said internal cohesion would be critical to the party’s chances at the polls, adding that members must avoid division and work together towards a common goal.

The former governorship candidate also pledged to collaborate with all factions within the party in the interest of its success.

themomentng reports that Adebutu was the PDP governorship candidate in the 2023 election, where he lost to the incumbent governor, Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress.

Abiodun defeated Adebutu with a margin of 13,915 votes.

Adebutu later challenged the outcome of the election at the Election Petitions Tribunal and pursued the matter up to the Supreme Court, but lost the legal battle.
