Sen. Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, has pledged five buses to support the activities of the City Boy Movement (CBM) for the reelection of President Bola Tinubunin in 2027.

Akintunde made the pledge when members of the Oyo State chapter of the movement paid him a courtesy visit in Ibadan.

This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Ibadan by the Publicity Director of the City Boy Movement, Gbenga Oyetola.

Akintunde commended the movement for its role in grassroots engagement and youth mobilisation.

He added that the movement’s activities had helped bridge the gap between political leaders and young people.

The senator described the movement as a growing political structure capable of driving participation and awareness at the grassroots level.

He appreciated the members of the movement for their commitment and consistency in mobilising support across Oyo State.

“It is important to state that I am also a member of the City Boy Movement.

“Our mission is clear—to have a government that is reliable, responsible and responsive, which we have been experiencing.

“Most of the promises made by the current government are beginning to yield results, and we must encourage our people to do more.

“We must remain focused, recognise obstacles, and face challenges with determination. I am optimistic that we will achieve our desired results.

“In support of this group’s operations, I pledge five buses to ease transportation and coordination of activities across the state.

“Donating five buses addresses one of the essential needs of the movement. I am convinced that whatever investment is made in this cause is worthwhile,” Akintunde said.

Speaking during the visit, the Director of the City Boy Movement, Mr Femi Onireti, said the group had begun mobilisation efforts in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

“We are ready to go all out to ensure President Tinubu returns to office in 2027. We are mobilising seriously and targeting one million votes in Oyo State,” Onireti said.

Also speaking, the Oyo State Coordinator of the movement, Chief Ahmed Ajibola, disclosed that the organisation currently has over 50,000 registered members across the state.

According to him, the movement has established structures in all 351 wards in Oyo State, a development he said would further strengthen its grassroots reach and mobilisation capacity.

He appreciated the senator for his support, describing him as a strong advocate of youth-driven political participation and grassroots development.

Ajibola reaffirmed their commitment to expanding the organisation’s activities and sustaining mobilisation efforts across Oyo State ahead of future political engagements.
