2027: Kano Ex-deputy Gov Gwarzo officially resigns from ADC

A former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, has resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

themomentng reports that Gwarzo announced his resignation in a letter dated May 1, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of the ADC in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State.

In the letter which was received on May 4, the former deputy governor said his resignation from the party took immediate effect.

Gwarzo attributed his decision to recent political developments and the need to reassess his membership of the party in line with his political vision.

According to him, the decision was taken after consultations with his political allies, supporters and well-wishers across Kano State.

“The decision comes after deep reflection and wide consultations with my political associates, supporters and well-wishers across the state,” he said.

He added that the changing political situation in the state and the country made it necessary for him to take a fresh political direction.

“Recent political developments and the evolving political landscape have made it necessary for me to review my membership in the interest of the people and the future of our state and the nation,” he stated.

The former deputy governor said his resignation was informed by patriotic considerations and his desire to pursue a political path that aligns with his values.

“My decision is informed by patriotic considerations and the need to pursue a political path that aligns with my vision for good governance, democratic values and sustainable development of our dear state,” he added.

Gwarzo said his future political engagements would be guided by his commitment to good governance, democratic ideals and the development of Kano State.

Despite his resignation, Gwarzo thanked the leadership and members of the ADC for the support he received during his time in the party.

“I wish to sincerely appreciate the leadership and members of the party for the cooperation, respect and support I received during my stay in the party,” he said.

The former deputy governor did not disclose his next political move as of the time of filing this report.
