NDC ratifies Peter Obi as 2027 Presidential Candidate

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has ratified former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

themomentng reports that the ratification followed the party’s nationwide primary elections held on Saturday across the country.

Obi emerged as the party’s presidential candidate after being affirmed as the sole aspirant for the ticket.

The exercise formed part of the NDC’s primaries for various elective positions ahead of the 2027 elections.

The event featured the official presentation of the NDC flag to Obi, confirming him as the party’s standard bearer for the presidential election.

Among those present were Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who is expected to serve as the party’s vice-presidential candidate, National Leader Seriake Dickson, National Chairman Cleopas Zuwoghe, party members and supporters.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also present at the event in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
