Chelsea join the race for Victor Osimhen amid €150m valuation and international duty controversy

Chelsea Football Club, English Premier League side, have reportedly entered the race to sign Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray in Turkey on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, amid growing transfer speculation and fresh controversy surrounding his international commitments.

Osimhen transfer shock Chelsea development follows reports that Galatasaray have placed a €150 million valuation on the prolific forward, reflecting his importance to the Turkish champions and the escalating competition for his signature across Europe.

The transfer talk comes at a time when Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle addressed Osimhen’s absence from recent international friendlies against Poland and Portugal, stating that the striker was not invited due to ongoing uncertainty over his club future.

Chelle explained that he preferred not to include Victor Osimhen in the squad as transfer discussions could potentially distract from national team focus, adding that full mental clarity is essential for competitive matches at international level.

However, Osimhen responded by disputing the interpretation of those remarks, insisting that his situation had been misrepresented and that the comments attributed to the national team coach were taken out of context, adding further tension to the unfolding narrative.

The Osimhen transfer shock Chelsea speculation has therefore intensified scrutiny on the striker’s immediate future, with top European clubs reportedly monitoring developments closely as the summer transfer window approaches.

Osimhen, widely regarded as one of Africa’s most lethal forwards, remains a central figure in both club and international football discussions, with his next move expected to have significant implications for the European transfer market.

Chelsea’s reported interest adds another layer of intrigue to an already volatile transfer landscape, where cmpetition for elite attacking talent continues to drive valuations to unprecedented levels.
