The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has suspended all vigils, overnight prayer meetings and similar programmes across its branches nationwide due to insecurity concerns.

The directive was contained in an internal circular dated June 5, 2026, and signed by the Director of Administration, MFM International Headquarters and Nigeria, Temitope Olawale.

According to the circular, all church programmes, services, meetings and activities at every level of the ministry must end not later than 8:00pm until further notice.

The church also directed that vigils and overnight programmes should be suspended immediately.

Branches that require such gatherings were advised to convert them to evening prayer meetings that must end on or before 8:00pm.

MFM said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to protect members amid the country’s security situation.

“These measures are purely precautionary and are intended to safeguard the lives and well-being of our members in the face of the current security situation in the country,” the memo read.

The ministry directed all overseers, zonal pastors, branch pastors, groups and departments to strictly comply with the directive.

It also instructed Mega Regional Overseers to ensure that the information is communicated to all regions, zones and branches under their supervision for immediate implementation.

The development comes amid growing concerns over insecurity in parts of the country, with religious organisations increasingly adopting safety measures to protect worshippers during gatherings.
