A fire has broken out on Broad Street, Lagos Island, affecting the Polaris Bank building located near Mandilas Building and behind the Central Bank of Nigeria area.
The incident reportedly began after a parked vehicle went up in flames, leading to a battery explosion that quickly escalated the situation.
The fire then spread to nearby structures, including the building of Polaris Bank in the busy commercial district.
The affected area is close to the Central Bank of Nigeria, where thick smoke and intense flames were seen as the fire spread.
Firefighters are currently on the ground battling to contain the blaze and prevent further damage, while residents and traders in the area look on as the situation unfolds.
