The Ogun State Police Command has recovered a Lexus RX300, which was earlier reported missing from the residence of a retired Ogun State Television broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, who were killed in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area of Ogun State.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, who said that the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, visited the scene of the incident on Monday for an on-the-spot assessment of the ongoing investigations.

The command said the visit was part of efforts to evaluate progress in the investigation into the killings.

“Further to the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of retired broadcaster, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, today visited the scene of the incident for an on-the-spot assessment and to personally evaluate the progress of ongoing investigative efforts,” the statement partly read.

Ojajuni, during the visit, inspected the premises and received briefings from detectives handling the case, reiterating the command’s commitment to ensuring justice.

“CP Ojajuni reiterated the Command’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensuring that those responsible are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” Babaseyi stated.

The command also confirmed the recovery of the victim’s vehicle, which had been declared missing after the incident.

“It is worthy of note that the vehicle earlier reported missing from the residence, a Lexus RX300, has been recovered by police operatives during the night hours,” the PPRO confirmed.

The command added that the vehicle had been secured as part of ongoing investigations, while assuring residents of continued efforts to track down the perpetrators.

“The Commissioner of Police commiserated with the family of the deceased and assured residents of Ogun State that intensive investigation is ongoing, with all available resources being deployed to track down the perpetrators.”

The incident occurred at the residence of the retired broadcaster in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area of Ogun State, where she and her security guard were killed under unclear circumstances.

The police had earlier confirmed that a resident raised the alarm over suspicious movements around the premises, prompting operatives to visit the scene.

Preliminary findings revealed signs of forced entry into the residence.

The command said that during a search of the premises, the security guard was found dead at his post, while the broadcaster’s body was later discovered inside the apartment.
