First Bank of Nigeria Ltd. has emerged as Nigeria’s Best Bank for Large Corporates and Best Bank for Customer Experience at the 2026 Euromoney Awards for Excellence.

The bank, in a statement on Tuesday, said the awards recognised excellence in financial performance, innovation, customer impact, service delivery and strategic execution.

It said the Best Bank for Large Corporates award was the third consecutive recognition, reflecting the bank’s leadership in providing banking solutions for large businesses and institutions.

According to the bank, customer banking revenue rose by 55 per cent from N443.8 billion to N687.7 billion during the review period.

It said its AI enabled internet banking platform, FirstDirect, processed transactions worth more than N15.4 trillion and completed over five million successful transactions in 2025.

The bank added that corporate customer onboarding through the platform increased by 101 per cent to more than 5,969 customers.

The Group Executive, Corporate Banking Directorate, Mr Olaitan Martins, described the award as a reflection of the bank’s commitment to innovative solutions and quality service for corporate customers.

He said the recognition also reflected the confidence customers continued to place in FirstBank as their preferred financial partner.

Martins said the bank also won the customer experience award through its “You First” initiative, which focuses on technology driven service delivery.

He said the bank’s Interactive Voice Response solution resolved 57 per cent of customer enquiries without human intervention by the end of 2025.

Ms Chikaodili Adun, Chief Customer Experience Officer, said the award affirmed the bank’s commitment to placing customers at the centre of its operations.

She said the bank would continue leveraging technology, innovation and employee engagement to deliver seamless banking experiences and set higher standards in customer service.
