The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) has appointed the managing director and chief executive officer of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), Engr Adeleye Falade, FNSE, to its Board of Directors as part of efforts to strengthen its leadership and advance private sector-driven economic reforms.
The appointment was announced at the NESG 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on July 14 at the NESG Summit House in Lagos and virtually.
The AGM reviewed the organization’s activities and financial performance for the year ended December 31, 2025, and was attended by members of the Board of Directors, members of the Group, auditors, company secretaries and other key stakeholders.
According to a statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of NESG, Dr Tayo Aduloju, Falade’s appointment reflects the Group’s commitment to strengthening its leadership with accomplished professionals whose expertise will support its mission of promoting sustainable economic development, inclusive growth and private sector-led transformation in Nigeria.
Falade currently leads NLNG, one of the world’s leading liquefied natural gas companies and a major contributor to Nigeria’s economic development and energy transition agenda.
He brings nearly three decades of experience in the global oil and gas industry, with expertise spanning upstream, midstream and LNG operations.
Before assuming leadership of NLNG, he served as managing director of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad, where he led one of the world’s established LNG producers. He also served as Country Chair for Shell Namibia, providing strategic leadership for the company’s operations and stakeholder engagements.
Earlier in his career, Falade held several leadership positions at NLNG, including general manager, production, and operations manager, where he played key roles in improving plant reliability, operational performance, safety and business improvement initiatives.
His career within the Shell Group has included senior technical, operational and executive roles across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Russia and Africa, with expertise in operations management, engineering, business transformation, production optimization, organizational effectiveness, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement.
Falade holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering from the University of Ibadan and an MBA from Henley Business School, University of Reading, United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
NESG said his extensive experience in energy, infrastructure, governance, and business transformation would enrich the Group’s policy dialogue and support its efforts to advance reforms that promote investment, productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable economic growth.
The Group expressed confidence that Falade’s leadership experience and expertise in operational excellence, governance and stakeholder engagement would further strengthen its evidence-based policy advocacy and contribute to Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda.
